Ride Dartmoor with Virginia Elliot MBE
How would you like to explore a stunning national park from a brilliant horse in the company of multiple Olympic eventing legend Virginia Elliot MBE either in summer (Friday 12th July to Monday 15th July ) or autumn (Monday 14th to Thursday 17th October 2019).
The ride is a fabulous opportunity for a small group of guests (8 maximum) to join an eventing legend as together you explore one of the most marvellous riding regions in Britain with an expert guide.
Over supper at the Grade 1 listed Hotel Endsleigh, on the western edge of Dartmoor alongside the River Tamar, riders are able to chat with Ginny about her career, favourite horses, Olympic memories, or just the shared experiences of the day. Each day riders join Ginny on horseback to explore the moors — typically for about four or five hours, with a good stop for lunch — with plentiful opportunities to kick on at a good pace and learn about the extraordinary terrain, history and wildlife of Dartmoor.
Lunch is served at a carefully selected local beauty spot, at which horses will be unsaddled and given a chance to drink, graze and roll while riders enjoy a breather and an excellent picnic.
Guests are welcome to bring their own horse if they wish, or we can supply excellent hunter types from a trusted yard on Dartmoor. Hotel Endsleigh also has famously grottos and gardens which you are welcome to make full use of around your riding time.
The price per head for this trip based on single occupancy for three nights dinner, bed and breakfast in at Hotel Endsleigh is £2,500 including all guiding, mid-ride lunches, horse hire, and pick ups from Exeter train station or airport as required. Please let us know if you’d rather bring your own horse — which you are most welcome to do so and we can organise very good local livery — in which case the price is £2,100.
